Mumbai: An American woman was attacked with a blade on board a local train in Mumbai at around 5 pm today.

The woman, Misel Mark, had boarded the train at Churchgate station, which is on Mumbai's Western line. The man attacked her between the Marine Lines and Charni Road station with the intention of robbing her of her belongings.

The woman, who sustained minor injuries on her face, neck and arms, was taken to the Nair hospital in South Mumbai. She was later discharged.

Police are yet to locate the man who carried out the attack
